Week 6

#13 Del.icio.us - ness

I can definitely see the advantages of being able to access all of your bookmarks regardless of the computer you are working on. It wouldn't matter if you were looking for something at home or at work on on holidays in another country, you could still find that elusive website that you can remember using a few months ago but can't quite remember the URL. All of your sites and URLs would be in one place all the time. Very handy. But the down side of this is that I have now make an account for yet another website and have to remember the login and the password for it. Does it make any less valid if I write all these down and carry the logins and passwords around with me all the time? Or does this defeat the purpose of security?

As a research tool for an info librarian, it could be very handy. Popular items could be grouped together by tagging and then when something that is 'hot off the presses' such as the latest and last Harry Potter book, it can be used by staff as a time saving element for general searching for patrons.
